Again I'm a bit late with my post from Untried Polish Challenge, but here it is! This time I had to pick up the most expensive from this pile. I paid 10 € for it, because I really wanted it (in my defence, this polish was in my pile only for a few weeks). I do have more Expensive polishes, but they were all already worn at least once.
The most expensive polish is Essie Set in Stones, but because I bought it to layer glitter over other polishes I had to pick up a base polish for it and I decided to go with Essie Lapiz of Luxury. I went Essie all the way!
Although I'm not a glitter fan, Essie Set in Stones was a must for me, and I'm really happy that I have it =)
I used:
Base Essie Lapiz of Luxury (2 coats)
I sponged 2 coats of Essie Set in Stones on my tips and polished 1 coat over my ring finger.
Here it is, simple but classy =)
The colour is a bit off, but I had difficulties with taking pictures. I hope this won't happen again =)
It's time to publish another manicure from Untried Nail Polish challenge. This time I had to make something neutral. I decided to use H&M duo nail polish set that I bought in September. I also tried to incorporate leaves since it is fall to have an excuse to finally try out my Red Angel image plates I received in my latest swap.
For this manicure I used:
H&M duo set, beige as a base and darker brown for stamping
Red Angel Stamping plates: RA-104 and RA-115
This is how it turned out:
Maybe I should do something else to achieve a more neutral look, but I think that is still matches the theme.
Do you like it? Do you have Red Angel plates? They don't ship to Slovenia this is why I asked Amanda (my swapper) if I can order them to her house and then she ships them out to me, and she agreed and made me really happy!
It's Friday! Time for another manicure from Untried Polish Challenge.
For today I prepared manicure that I wanted to do immediately when I received my swap package from Amanda.
Through my 7 years of nail polish obsession I really changed my taste in colour and finish of nail polish, but I'm still not a glitter fan. When I saw Scandalous and Sparkling I said that this two beauties have to be mine someday, and now they are =))).
Now back to my manicure. For the base I used Essie Licorice (2 coats) flowed by one coat of Scandalous on my ring finger. I love the end result! I really don't like black on my nails, but this manicure looks classy to me.
Like it?
I'm really starting to enjoy this challenge, thankfully I have so many untried nail polishes that I can probably repeat this challenge at least twice.
Because I have a big shoe box of untried nail polishes I was looking for a fun way how to empty this box (if it could ever be emptied =)). After searching the web I found Untried Polish Challenge that was created by Jonochi from Just Add Polish! I can' wait for "harder" parts of this challenge, because the first part of the challenge is super easy (just like a warm up).
I decided to do this challenge of Fridays.
That's enough of introduction. Here is what I'm up with:
To add more fun to the first part of this challenge I decided to draw a nail polish from the bottom with my eyes closed. I draw Gabrini Summer Edition M117 (what a wonderful name?). Reddish pink with pink shimmer.
I applied 2 coats no top coat, it dried pretty fast.
I know I'm a bit late ( not a bit, but 10 days). I'm sorry about that, but I've had my reasons =)
For this part I had to make something wavy. When I looked the design on BM 209 I thought that it looks just as wavy as I want it, but when I transferred design on my nails and with this color combination it doesn't look wavy at all. Wavy or not, I liked this look, and I hope you like it too =)
Items Used:
OPI: Dutch'ya just love OPI?
BM 209 and Essence magic wand =)
I'll prepare a post containing all the pictures from threee challenge in the near future =)
I was really surprised to see post from three challenge today, because I didn't memorise the correct date and if I wouldn't do some checking up today, I'd probably be a little late(again)
For this part of the challenge I had to get inspired by my favourite song. That was quite challenging, because I love a lot of different songs. When I started thinking about which one would I choose I only thought about latest hits, because I do listen to them all the time, I wanted to do Call Me Maybe, Goin', Back In Time...., but in the end their lyrics seemed way too superficial for a challenge like that. Then I started thinking about Queen and one of my favourite bands Nickelback, but I still couldn't pick a song. Just when I was about to give up it hit me! I was playing song pop( FB application) and I got challenged in GLEE . Why not get inspired by such a meaningful, beautiful song like Imagine? Of course I know that this song was not written by GLEE, but I really love the start of this song. Deaf people singing this song. There is not a better way to represent the lyrics and the meaning of a song.
Here is a video of a song, please take those three minutes( irony three challenge, three minutes) and listen to it!
Here is my manicure:
I put love and peace over white, because white is pure and represents fresh start.
On my ring finger I tried to to the uniform of the deaf people ( I kinda failed that).
On my middle finger I decided for a red base which represents blood spilled because of hatred and wars, I also put little x-s there, because nobody wants a horror like that
And on my index finger I just ran out of inspiration and simply write imagine with 3( again three) dots which represent that we are really far away from a place like John Lennon wanted to have.
I used:
Essence: white hype
beautyuk black from midnight mix set and red from west end girl set
Bourjois 10 days: 21
and nail art brushes from Born pretty store which I'll review tomorrow it there won't be any unexpected plans =)
Here is also the lyrics of a song, because I think it is really meaningful:
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people sharing all the world
You, you may say
I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one
I hope some day you'll join us
And the world will live as one
What do you think? Did I fail or succeed in recreating such a meaningful son?
It's time for the third manicure in three challenge
For this part of challenge I had to make something futuristic looking. I found one interesting piece of clothing in the Internet, but I failed recreating it on my nails.
Interesting right? I would never wear it, but it really looks futuristic. doesn't it? =)
To continue with my nails
I wanted to use striping tape to create clear lines, but my nail polish wasn't completely dry and I ruined everything in my first try so in my second try I decided I'll just do everything with free hand. I won't count how many new grey hair did I get because of this manicure, but I'm pretty sure it was quite a lot and in the end I was really happy that at least I have something to show you, although it turned out far more worse that I ever imagined.
Here it is:
My futuristic manicure=)
It's really not what I wanted to create, but at least with this colour combination and metallic colour everything looks futuristic, don't you agree?
Items that I used:
China Glaze :Millenium
Catrice: Hot or Not?
Beauty UK West end girl set: beige colour
and unknown light grey
Here are all the awesome ladies that also created something futuristic today =):
I recently joined a challenge created by Mateji ustvarjata ( Two Matejas) and today is the first day of this challenge. I already bloged about it, but if you haven't heard of it or you are interested in joining, here you can find all the info you need. It's not too late to join =)
for the first day I had to create something antique looking.
It was quite challenging because I didn't find anything useful on the Internet. And after hour( literally) of searching for inspiration I found something I thought I could create.
Here's my inspirational photo:
(source is in the picture)
And here is what I ended up with:
What do you think I failed or succeeded?
I'm really satisfied with my nail art =)
Here is some more pictures:
I also made a pendant for a necklace a while ago that reminded me of this nail art.
Of course I had to take some pictures
This one is definitely my favourite =)
I used:
Essence white hype
black acrylic paint and Born pretty store nail art brushes
Be sure to check out all of the other ladies that are participating in this challenge!
At least for a little while =). I feel inspired again and I hope this time will last more that a week =)
It's time to post the last manicure for Spring challenge
I thougt this one will be the easiest, but my manucure is a complete fail!
Just take a look at it!
I used 2 way nail art pens from BPS which I'll review this week. They are really AWESOME =)
And 2 coats of Matte Aqua from BYS this blue is seriously breathtaking, I'v never worn such a beautiful blue, but because it is matte it also reveals in what bad state my nails were when I took the photos=(.
I'm really sorry it took me so long to post this pictures, but I was busy with my trip to Zagreb some picnics and I was kinda lazy too =).
For this part of the challenge I had to make bugs, and here I decided to go with caterpillar, I'm not sure if I like it, but I know it is probably not the worst nail art you've seen =). I used pink and green colour, because it was the only color combination left.
I used:
Born Pretty store 2 way nail art pens (green)
Essence I like and pink flamingo
I must admit that it looked much better when I was imagined it =)
After a lot of thinking I decided that I'll start with pink and orange colour combination, and I think it turned out just perfect =). I never thought that this 2 colours would look so good together =). Mateja, thank you for challenging me!
Items that I used:
Esssence: Sun Downer and Bad girl
Diamond cosmetics: Cherry tobacco
China Glaze: Ahoy
sponge & toothpick =)
I'm not sure if you can see what this represents because I'm a pretty bad drawer.
The black thingy was supposed to be a tree ( tree of life) so this represents LIFE in my manicure, and as you can see this is a special tree of life, because it grows hearts (LOVE) that are carried away to all of the other nails by orange sponged wind =).
I know, sometimes I get carried away too much =).
I wish the pictures would turn out better, but they didn't and because I bumped my nails into something I couldn't take better pictures =(.
Here are all the other girls that are participating in this challenge
P.S. Tomorrow I'll be back with another challenge post, because Mateja from Purple glitters made awesome spring challenge =). I just couldn't resist it =).
All the details about spring challenge you can find here. I hope you'll join =)
