The struggle of finding a perfect yellow gold stamping polish is over!

Hi!

I'm not sure of you have this problem, but I have always wanted to find that perfect YELLOW GOLD stamping polish. I have quite a few gold polishes for stamping but none of them is not yellow, like real gold. ( It is actually funny how much I wanted a yellow gold polish, but I really hate wearing any king of gold jewellery).
When looking at the Born Pretty Store stamping nail polish collection I noticed that #1 looked promising, but I did not expect much from it (because I've had a lot of gold polishes that were not good for stamping). It really surprised me when it arrived! It was that perfect yellow gold with great pigmentation that in my opinion every girl MUST have.
It cost's 8,42 $, (if you use my code you can get it for 7,58 $)

First I tried it over a red base. Red and gold combination is a classic for me. I used BP-L029 stamping plate and added some dots with dotting tool. The transfer of the desing was good (one flower is croocked because of my clumsines, not the polish)

Here I tested this stamping polish over black and white and you can see that it works over both bases, but it looks more yellowish when stamped over black. Again I used BP-L029 stamping plate.

I did a sloppy job at stamping here, but I just wanted to show you how it looks over different bases.

Here I used it also as a freehand nail art polish and because it is pigmented it worked great!

Which one is your perfect gold stamping polish?

My opinion:

It is a great stamping polish (way better than Konad gold), it is not the cheapest out there, but for the quality and quantity (15 mL) you get it I think it is worth the money! It transfers great, but I did notice that it has a funky smell ( I got used to it, so now it does not bother me anymore). I will defenitely get myself some more (when I earn some money, since I'm broke at the moment).

Aztec stamping Plate from Born Pretty Store

Hi!

Today I have another review post on a stamping plate from a well known Born Pretty Store. Here is a link to their nail art department where they have tons of nail art related items: stamping plates, nail decals, glitters, rhinestones, dotting tools, brushes, foils and many other items.

BP-L010 stamping plate
You can find this plate here, it costs 5,99 $, but it is currently out of stock.

This plate has :
14 all over designs (sized 2 cm x 1,4 cm) and
7 smaller designs
a plastic backing preventing cuts
super cute paper pocket for storing

 My opinion

As the Christmas plate, also this one has well engraved patterns and all the designs transfer perfectly. I really like the paper pocket for storing, and the way it looks (pretty expensive and classy). But in the end the most important for me is transfer quality and design size ( I have a lot of plates, but some of them I can only use on short nails). For these designs to be to small I have to grow my free edge for more 8 mm, which will probably never happen, this is why I can use this designs at any length =).
The designs are something I would probably not chose ( I constantly put on lace or floral patterns), but when I played around with it, I'm really happy that I have this one in my collection, since it has some amazing designs on it.
My favourites are: from left to right top row: 3, 4, 5 and bottom row: 1, 3 and 6.

Here are some manicures I created with this plate

Tribal water decals from Born Pretty

Hi!

I'm really sorry I've been missing in action lately. I will try to make it up to you my dear readers!

Today I have another review post on water decals from a well known Born Pretty Store. Here is a link to their nail art department where they have tons of nail art related items: stamping plates, nail decals, glitters, rhinestones, dotting tools, brushes, foils and many other items.
Pay them a visit, you won't regret it, nether will your wallet since their assortment is relatively cheap and they also offered a special coupon code (see below)!

In this post I'm going to present you BP-W26 water decals that I received from Born Pretty Store. Currently they are on sale and cost only 1.50 $!

What do you get for that money?

-2 square decals (5,8 cm x 5,8 cm) in 2 different colour (grey and black).
-You can make 2 manicures when using decals on all of your nails or. you can get at least 10 different looks when using a decal only on accent nail. (in the first picture I used it as an accent nail and in my last manicure as nail art on all of my nails)
For that price it is definitely worth the money!

Decals are super easy to use!
You just cut them out, remove plastic foil, put them in water and slide them off the paper. Just place the decal on the nail and use brush dipped in acetone to remove overlapping decal on your cuticle. Add top coat and you're done!

These decals are cheap and easy to use, but they do have a downside. I tried the grey decal over darker base, but the base was too dark and the pattern wasn't visible. So when using decals you should always use a lighter base colour!

Now off to manicures I created with these tribal decals:

For the first I used:
BarryM Gold foil
Essie licorice and
BP-W26 water decals

For the second manicure I used:
Essence White Hype and
BP-W26 water decals

And remember! Use my code COLLX31 for 10% discount!

Hehe - 050 stamping plate AKA Lacey LOVE

Lady Queen is an international beauty shop, selling nail art,make-up and tools, jewellery, fashion bags etc. They offer free shipping all over the world. Here is a link to their nail art department where they have tons of nail art related items: stamping plates, glitters, rhinestones, dotting tools, brushes, foils and many other items.

As I mentioned in my previous post I personally think that they offer the biggest selection of nail decalls, but besides that they offer a wide variety of stamping plates. On of those I'll review in today's post.

Today I'm going to present you hehe 050 stamping plate, where it currently costs 2,99$, but with my coupon code you can get if with 15% discount for 2,54$.

Here is a picture of the stamping plate:

Since it is an all over design there is a lot of different options, and you can create many looks with this plate.

Here are some technicalities:

Size of the heart:
width 2,1 cm
height 2 cm

Whole design
width 5 cm
height 5 cm

Inscription (Valentine's day)
width 1 cm
height 1 cm

No protection on the back (lightly sanded edges that are not too sharp)
Light weight
Well engraved
Good transfer to the stamp
Hard peace of metal and can not be bent or broken

My opinion:
I tried 2 different designs with this plate and I had no problems with stamping. The image transferred well, and didn't smudge. I tried to stamp all parts of the plate and I haven't notice any "bad" spots, so I can say that it is really well engraved. Because it is an all over design I had a lot of options in my mind. Because the heart design is too big for my nails I used it a bit differently (as a V shape stamping), This is a big advantage because if you regularly want to stamp this way you have to protect the rest of the nail with a tape or liquid latex. It is relatively cheap comparing to some other stamping plates.

Here are my manicures:

I used BarryM Boots a Bikinni and Konad Black

I used Ciaté Ahoy Sailor and China Glaze Deviantly Daring

I really like how many options this plate offers. you can make a Gothic design with bold colours or something delicate and girly with light colours. I think it is a must for every woman to have this plate in her collection.

For all of my readers Lady Queen offered a coupon code for 15% discount. Use WEXS15 at the checkout.

Born Pretty Store BPL-023 image plate

Hi!

Today I have another review for you!

We all know Born Pretty Store. Here is a link to their nail art department where they have tons of nail art related items: stamping plates, glitters, rhinestones, dotting tools, brushes, foils and many other items.
Pay them a visit, you won't regret it, nether will your wallet since their assortment is relatively cheap and they also offered a special coupon code (see below)!

Here is the image plate:

You can find it here! It cost's 5,99$, but it is currently out of stock (why not, this plate is absolutely stunning and the only plate you'll need this winter)

Size:
Snowflake design:
width:3 cm

lenght:5,4 cm

Full nail designs:
width 1,9 cm

lenght:2,2 cm

Smaller designs
aproximitely 1 cm x 1 cm

Quality:

I used it many times, but I still didn't tried all of the designs. Designs are very well engraved, because the designs transfer crisp to the nails. It is quite heavy, this gives it a high quality feel. The backing is secured with hard plastics, so no sharp edges! It comes with a pretty cardboard pocket, where it can be stored between usages. The only downside for me is that all the plates have the same pocket so if you have a lot of this plates it is harder to find the one you want, but this can easily be solved by marking the pockets =).

Pros:
a lot of designs
well engraved- crisp image transfer
low price considering the amount of designs
no sharp edges
quality production

Cons:
This is not a real fault, but I don't like that all the pockets for storing the plates are the same (can be solved with marking the pockets)

Overall, I'm really impressed with this one. I really wasn't expecting this quality.

Here are some of examples on how to use this plate:

Now who could resist this image plate? I really have to get some more of these plates, because they have a lot of different designs! (I already ordered 2, and they are just waiting for me to use them)

They were kind to offer a 10% OFF coupon code. Use COLLX31 at the checkout!

Advent calendars Day 1 - Day 6

Hi!

I wanted to share this with you yesterday, but my school work is killing me (not to mention that I have poor time management skills, and I'm currently not feeling like writing, because I wrote two seminars in the past 2 weeks).
I want talk a lot, here are pictures of the things I got in my 3 advent calendars from 1st to 6th of December.

 Ciaté advent calendar:
1. hierloom, 2. check mate, 3. pom pom, 4. cutie pie, 5. bloom boost treatment and 6. snow globe
Because these are my first ciaté nail polishes I just had to make a photo session with them. Here is another picutre:

Essence advent calendar:

1. Do you hear the jingle bells? 2. kiss under the mistletoe, 3.add on magic!, 4. north pole princess, 5 see you in my dreams and a nail file shaped in Christmas stocking
Look By Bipa advent calendar:

1. toe separator, 2. top coat, 3. cuticle sticks, 4 Black Night, 5. pink/sliver caviar beads and 6. nail file with loads of pink glitter
I made a simple manicure with hierlom from Ciaté

I applied 3 coats
and used an Ugolki(literal translate is corners) stencil from Rocknailstar with Essie Licorice

I know I'm really late with publishing swatches of polishes I got in my calendars (I do post pictures on Instagram regularly). I do hope I'll swatch them by the middle of January =). I'm thinking of making a blog post for each calendar with all of the swatches. What do you think?

Nail Art Wednesdays #8

Another week has passed and it is time for som nail art =). This time I made some freehand on my nails.
I probably mentioned that I study Chemistry (a bit over a year ago I finished my bachelor studies, and now I'm only 5 exams away from my masters degree). Because I sometimes want to incorporate my education in my hobbies I decided to do some periodic table of elements nail art =).

For this manicure I used:
Essence Happy Girls Are Pretty LE Pretty You! (2 coats)
Claires two way nail art pen in black
Essence the gel nail polish top coat (1 coat)
