Guest Nails! ( Shaina-Minty from Haute Lacquer)

7:29 PM colorfulbottle 11 Comments

Hi!

It's friday so you all know what that means right? Today (Shaina) Minty from from Haute Lacquer prepared something really beautiful and special for us =).

Let's look at her post she prepared:

Hi everyone! First I want to thank Dolores for inviting me to do this post! I am so flattered and excited to be writing on this blog.
I was so indecisive about what to do with this post. I thought of so many different things and even drew some nail art ideas. But then I lost the sheet and just grabbed some tape and scissors and just went at it! I love tape manicures because they are so easy to do and work with.
After several attempts and color combinations, this is what I came up with.

For this manicure I used S-he 471 as the light blue/silver metallic base. I let it completely dry before I cut out thin strips of regular scotch tape and placed it on my nails, overlapping each piece of tape I put down. Then I applied a medium blue metallic, Nicole by OPI Party in the Penthouse, over the entire nail. I carefully removed the tape, making sure to remove the pieces I laid on top first. Finish off with a topcoat and you're done!
I hope you all enjoyed my post, I am so happy to have written it! Thank you again Dolores.

Isn't it gougers? I'm definitely making a scotch tape manicure soon =).
Shaina, thank you for this awesome post and pictures =)

Ahoy Sailor!

8:04 PM colorfulbottle 16 Comments

Hiiii!

I hope you enjoyed the lest day of Easter holidays =).

For today I promised you something pink, and you probably guessed which polish is it from the title of the post( If you haven't this is CG: Ahoy!). I applied 3 coats, the polish applied really well, like all the CG polishes I tried before, it also dried really fast. As you all know this is a pretty pink glass flecked polish with a bit of red in it. Why would I carry on and try to describe this beauty if I can just show you the pictures =)
The first picture is under direct sun light
and the rest 3 are in shade where the flecks are more visible =)
isn't it just beautiful? And you hear that from a girl that hated pink for almost a decade=)))).
Ivana thank you for showing me that pink is also a beautiful color =)
I just had to enlarge the last picture, because you simply must see the glass flecks, and how beautiful this polish really is

I think this was love at first sight.
Do you have a bottle of this gorgeousness?

I'm really sorry that I'm not answering to all of you lovely comments and I also don't comment a lot lately, but I have an exam tomorrow and I really had to learn alto lately. I hope I'll be able to make it up to all of you =).

Have a nice evening/day! =)

I will definitely not forget you!

Hi!

Today I'm going to show you a pretty blue polish from Blossoms LE from Essence. I know, I know, you've seen it on many different blogs and in many versions, but I still have to show you my version.
I applied 2 coats of Essence: Forget Me Not and I must tell you, that this polish applied like heaven. I'm really in love =). I'll definitely not forget you!

It also contains a small amount of darker blue shimmer, but that is not visible in the picture nor on nails, you can only see it in the bottle, or may be in a picture taken with flash.

I also added a bow with one of the fauxnad plates I have and Sally Hansen Blue it( I don't know why I used this polish in my last 3 manicures, I guess it was the closest when I felt like creating something ^_^).

And yes, I know, it's BLUE AGAIN, but I can't help it =).

Here are 2 pictures on the sun:

and one taken in the shade:
Do you have this polish?
Are you tired of blues on my blog? ( I have good news, tomorrow I'll show you something pink)

I wish you all happy Easter!

Have fun( but not too much, I might get jealous ^_^)

Calypso Breeze is back!

10:25 PM colorfulbottle 8 Comments

Hi!

As promised I have to show you pictures of another manicure I did with Calypso Breeze.

Here it is:

I still don't know if I like Calypso Breeze, but because Orly Bottles are big, I think I'll have a lot of times to decide.

For stamping I used one of the BM plates( I'm too lazy to look the nuber up) and a mixture of Essence B&W LE White hype and Sally Hansen Blue it.

Do you like the final result?

Guest Nails! (Amber from My Nail Graffiti)

9:07 PM colorfulbottle 19 Comments

HI!

Another Friday, another guest nails =). Today I'm hosting Amber from My Nail Graffiti. She prepared something spring-like also with the help of her extremely talented husband. Be sure to check out her blog to see more works of art that Amber did in previous manicures, I can assure you won't regret it =). I'm planning to recreate one of her manicures really soon =).

Here is what she prepared:

Hey polish lovers! My name is Amber, and I'm so happy I get to guest post for Dolores! I'm really into nail art so I prepared something special for you guys. Also as a side note, you should know my husband helps me with my nails! :P He is a very good artist so he enjoys making little pieces of artwork on my nails. He is always saying, "I put the "man" in manicure"! haha

So where I live, it's just becoming spring. I also just got some pastel Kleancolor polishes in the mail, so what better way to use them than for a fun spring-time manicure? Here is what I ended up with:
It seems complex but it was all done with stamping plates! Here is a breakdown of what we used (It's kind of a lot!):

Base Polishes: E.L.F Bubble Gum Pink, Kleancolor: Pastel Blue, Pastel Yellow, and Pastel Purple
Polishes Used to Stamp: China Glaze Entourage, Konad: White, Black, Purple and Pink
Stamping Plates Used: Konad S10, Born Pretty Store  M02 and M05, Bundle Monster 19,05, 10, and 16
I am loving these pastel colors right now...what about you?

Well that's all I have for you! I hope you like my design and don't think it's too juvenile! Thank you again to Dolores for hosting me! :)

Don't you just love it?

I really enjoy having guest nails post, especially if there is something really unique=). So far I enjoyed every post and I'm planing to make a competition after 10 guest post where YOU my dearest readers will decide which one of the lovely 10 ladies that prepared Guest Nails! post will be awarded =).

Don't  hesitate to participate, just contact me on my mail and we'll discuss all the details.

I love dots! Do I ?

5:33 PM colorfulbottle 16 Comments

Hi!

This is another pre prepared post, because I'm in the capital, and I don't carry my lap top with me there so I have no other connection to internet but the library, but I think people will look at me like I'm a freak if I'd be writing a post about nail polish there, especially because it is a library for science geeks( chemistry, pharmacy, mathematics, physics, medicine, engineering,...).

Today I have a picture of a manicure that I cannot decide if I like or not. Firstly is the base color( Orly Calypso Breeze), I'm really not sure whether I like this color or not. When I bought it, I liked it a lot, and than I was looking at it at home and I was thinking what the hell was I thinking to buy this one. It was the same when I had it on the nails, but the opposite, firstly I hated it, but than I liked it, and when I started to like the color, I made dots on the base and then I suddenly hated it again, and this story goes on and on... In the end I decided that I'm going to remove it, but when I looked at the pictures I said to myself that it wasn't so bad at all, so I decided that it needs a second chance, but this is a story for another post =).

All a have to do is to show you the pictures, and I hope you'll be able to decide if you like it or not, because I'm still undecided =)

I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear: Blue it for and a tooth pick for dots =)

Of course I had to show you earrings that I made especially for myself =)

I just realised that I forgot to take a shade picture, because it is way darker in shade.
Tomorrow I'm going to show you Calypso Breeze with konad =)

Suede goddess

5:29 PM colorfulbottle 12 Comments

Hi!

Today I have another blue polish for you(Deborah Sense tech 100% mat 10). I really don't know what is with me and blue lately, because I've always been a big fan of reds and purples, but lately all I want is blue =).
It was a love at first sight, and to tell you honestly I still love it despite what it did to me. I'll tell you about that later, because firstly I want to show you some pictures.
Here they are:

As you can see I also added some black flowers from essence stampy plate.
I'm really sorry about the bad picture quality, but these were taken at night also in Ljubljana, and I don't have a daylight light bulb, but I really have to start tinking about investing in one.
The polish has a pretty suede finish, because of the sliver and blue glitter in it. I really have to take some better pictures of this one, and I also have to show you some top coat pictures, because it looks awesome with top coat.

I also promised to explain what this polish did to me. Actually there is not a big story behind, all this polish did was, that is stained my nails really badly. Today is the 5th day from the removal and my nails are stil a bit blue =(. But it is so beautiful that I forgive it that =).
Here is another more blurry picture, but I really like the composition =)

The staining part was the only thing I disliked a bout the polish, the rest was a pure poetry. It applied as a butter, dried amazingly fast, not to mention that it was opaque in only ONE coat.

Have a nice day=)

Crack 'em black Mommy =)

8:30 PM colorfulbottle 11 Comments

This is the name of the essence crackle polish in black, and I had to remove the sticker just to read the name, because they decided that there will be black words on the bottle that contains black fluid, REALLY SMART =).
I'm not a big fan of crackle polishes, this is why I'm not all over the Shatters and China Glaze crackles, but still I wouldn't be a polishaholic if I didn't own at least one crackle polish. Right?
And because all of my friends know that I'm really into nail polish, they asked me if I've heard about a nail polish that cracks.
Doh, of course I know them, there is no chance that I would miss such a big trend as this is =)( but I kinda forgive them because some of them don't know I write a nail polish related blog and that there is literally no chance that I would miss this trend) . Anyway, they wonted to see this polish and I brought it to college with me, and I wouldn't be me if I wouldn't show this to my friend, and because I was wearing Mommy Kissing Santa I got black and red combo =). I'm really sorry because the picture quality is really bad, but it was the best I could do in the capital. ) This reminds me that I have to ask you if you want to see my new student dorm room in Ljubljana?)
Here is what I ended up with :

I must admit I don't hate the combination =).

I also have a fun story to share with you =)

Last Thursday I was cleaning dust from my dorm's room and I have about 15 bottles of polish there on the shelf. And I said to my room mate: Why the hell have I brought so much polishes here, now I'll have to remove them all and then place them back again( I know 15 polishes is really too much work to do ^_^). She only give me a surprised look and said that she hasn't seen so much polishes in her life, turning away was the only thing I was able to do, before I burst into a big laughter. I only thought: What would you say if I showed you the whole collection =).

Btw, I really like my room mate, she is a good person, and we get a long really well =). She also doesn't mind the smell of a nail polish remover =). But sadly she is here on Erasmus student exchange(she's from Slovakia) and she'll be gone at the end of this semester =(. I'm already afraid what my new room mate is going to be like *bitting nails*

How do your friends feel about your nail polish addiction?

Have you seen mommy kissing santa?

2:21 PM colorfulbottle 8 Comments

Hi ladies!

I know that all of you saw mommy kissing santa from China Glaze, but have you seen your mother kissing santa? I haven't =)

Today I'm going to show you another nail polish that is a complete opposite to what most girls wear at this time of the year. As I told you many times before I'm crazy about shimmer and this is why I had to try this one out as soon as possible, and I don't care if spring is not a perfect time for winter reds =). I don't know if you know, but this one was a gift from Ivana
Thank you dear!

I'm not going to talk any more.
Here are the pictures (but I must warn you, that they are really bad and I'm sorry for that):

It was late at night and I didn't want to be to loud preparing my light bulb tu make better pictures. I hope you'll still come to visit my blog again though I have a series of  bad pictures prepared for you =).

Have a nice day =)

Guest Nails! ( Rosey from roseylicious)

11:53 PM colorfulbottle 8 Comments

Hi!

It's Guest Nails! Friday again =). This week I'm hosting Rosey from roseylicious. She prepared us something beautiful an classy in black and red combination. Let's see what she prepared =):

Nail Art: “SUMMER LUST”

Hi everyone! I'm Rosey, and I blog about love and nail polish. I often post what I did with my nails and from time to time, I share how it feels to be in an LDR. I've been thousands of miles away from my gwapo boyfriend after he migrated to Canada, and ever since, it was never easy. But rather than sitting and crying since he's away, I do things to keep me busy. Lo and behold, nail polish, nail stuff and the blog world has been keeping my sanity intact, and since then my nail polish collection has grown exponentially before I knew it. *LOL* Dumb as it sounds, but seriously, nail polish makes me happy. LDR blows but everything has it's silver lining-- I have lost count of how much nail stuff my gwapo boyfriend has gotten me already. Haha, I'm just kidding, but half-meant. *LOL* What I'd like everyone to know though is that LDR is definitely do-able-- you just have to want it enough. Want it big time, with or without nail polish. Wait, did I say without nail polish? Nah, that isn't right, I'll have to think about it! *guffaw*  Okay, enough of that. It has been a pretty long introduction! Forgive me. *grins*

This is what I have for you today.

After 2 weeks of contemplating what to share with you guys, I decided that for this guest post, I’ll use my very first Eyeko Nail Polish my gwapo boyfriend got for me. So for the base polish, I used Eyeko Vampira Polish which is described as “lust-worthy glossy black lacquer dripping with blood red shimmer” by Eyeko.
This is actually my first time to wear a black nail polish because I’m afraid I’d look like a 13-year old wannabe-punk. *LOL* I know this isn’t so apt with Spring nor Summer (it’s Summer here right now in my country), call me a criminal, but that’s how I roll! *big grin*

I used three coats. You can get away with two but I want it a bit more intense. It’s with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
And these are what I used:

Though the polish is already sexy and gorgeous alone, I stamped it with heart designs on the Soft Stamp A11 using San San Nail Polish in Ruby Red (a local polish here in the Philippines). It’s my first time to try soft stamping so please excuse my amateur-ish application.

I hope you guys like it. A big thanks to you Dolores for giving me a space here. I appreciate it very much.
Thanks for reading! A nice weekend for everyone! =)

This manicure is really beautiful. I like it a lot, and I think all of my readers will like it too. I bet nobody thought you are a 13 year old punk with these beautiful hearts on your nails =)

My dear readers: What do you think? Do you like it or love it?
Are you going to join Guest Nails! someday?

All of those who want to participate in guest nails please send me a mail on dolores dot zimerl at gmail dot com.

Have a nice day =)

All of you who knows me a bit better knows that shimmery polishes makes me weak. I'm really crazy about shimmery polishes, and the more depth the shimmer gives to nail polish the more I like it. You can probably imagine how long have I been starring at this manicure =).
I won't talk any more, I'll just show you the pictures
Shade pictures with my much shorter nails, because I just broke one the previous day:

I just love the shimmery fire in the bottle <3

Like it?

Wait for the sun pictures =)

I really don't know if it is only me or this polish is really really beautiful =).
What do you think about this one?
