Untried Polish Challenge - The most Expensive

12:51 AM colorfulbottle 2 Comments

Hi!

Again I'm a bit late with my post from Untried Polish Challenge, but here it is! This time I had to pick up the most expensive from this pile. I paid 10 € for it, because I really wanted it (in my defence, this polish was in my pile only for a few weeks). I do have more Expensive polishes, but they were all already worn at least once.
The most expensive polish is Essie Set in Stones, but because I bought it to layer glitter over other polishes I had to pick up a base polish for it and I decided to go with Essie Lapiz of Luxury. I went Essie all the way!
Although I'm not a glitter fan, Essie Set in Stones was a must for me, and I'm really happy that I have it =)

I used:
Base Essie Lapiz of Luxury (2 coats)
I sponged 2 coats of Essie Set in Stones on my tips and polished 1 coat over my ring finger.
Here it is, simple but classy =)

The colour is a bit off, but I had difficulties with taking pictures. I hope this won't happen again =)

What do you think? Was it worth the money?

Nail Art Wednesdays #8

10:56 PM colorfulbottle 2 Comments

Another week has passed and it is time for som nail art =). This time I made some freehand on my nails.
I probably mentioned that I study Chemistry (a bit over a year ago I finished my bachelor studies, and now I'm only 5 exams away from my masters degree). Because I sometimes want to incorporate my education in my hobbies I decided to do some periodic table of elements nail art =).

For this manicure I used:
Essence Happy Girls Are Pretty LE Pretty You! (2 coats)
Claires two way nail art pen in black
Essence the gel nail polish top coat (1 coat)

Untried Polish Challenge - Cheapest

10:53 PM colorfulbottle 4 Comments

Hi!

Time for another post from Untried Polish Challenge. Today I will show you the cheapest polish I have in my untried polish pile.
It is Joy nail polish that costed me a bit under 1€. Sadly it doesn't have a number on (looks like I scratched the sticker off).
IT looks wonderful in the bottle, but the application was hellish, not to mention that it smelled badly and it almost had no shine when it dried (at least it dried pretty fast). Because of missing shine I applied top coat for swatches.
Here it is
Voliare Joy (unknown number) 2 coats
Essence: the gel nail polish top coat ( 1 coat)

It looks great right? I almost forgive it the horror that it caused me =)
Because I just received and image plate for a review and just because I really want Christmas to come (or at least December because I can start opening my advent calendars) I decided to do something more winter like =)

I used:
Base Voliare Joy
Stamping: BarryM Gold Foil and BPL-032

And a bonus picture! When I wanted to take pictures of this nail polish this is what was waiting for me:

Looks like one of my cats wanted to try out how tissue paper reacts to claws =). Thank good I have loads of paper napkins at home =)

Madam Glam Has Never Been so Chic!

12:49 AM colorfulbottle 5 Comments

Hi!
Today I'm going to show you the second part of the swatches od the polishes I received from Madam Glam store this week.

Never Been So Chic

It is a beige creme nail polish. I applied 3 coats, the polish dried to a lovely shine (no top coat in the pictures).

This nail polish makes my hands look really tanned =).

This is an ideal base for some nail art, that is why I decided to use it as a base for my nail art Wednesdays.Probably the picture below looks familiar =).

BFF

This one is a light blue chreme base filled with black dots of various sizes. I applied 4 coats, but the polish dried quickly. I have it on my nails for 2 days now and I haven't noticed any chips. This one is really something special. I don't have anything like this in my collection.

Because I just had to improve my stripping tape skills I played around with tape and I ended up with this manicure. I love it! Don't you?
Base: Madam Glam BFF
Top: Essie Licorice

If you want to see the first part of my swatches you can find them here. Overall I'm really impressed with these nail polishes, they dried fast and had a nice shine (especially the creme finish). The store offers a lot of different colours and finishes (they also have a matte top coat). I haven't tested the wear time, but  BFF stayed on my nails for 2 whole days without any chips (that is really a lot for me)

I know I already told you this, but again I'd like to remember you, that Madam Glam offers a special discount code.

This polishes were sent to me for reviewing purposes. See my disclosure policy.

For this manicure I used:

lace foil from Ebay
and Essie Good To Go

Here are the pictures

Despite it is not perfect I still like it. I will definitely try this again!

Madam Glam Glitter My Life and Wine Divine

11:22 PM colorfulbottle 4 Comments

Hi!

Today I'm going to show you 2 nail polishes from Madam Glam. Madam Glam is a store from USA that sells gel and regular nail polish (they also sell other decorative cosmetics). They offer a wide variety of colours, but the most interesting thing in their store is definitely colour change gel nail polish and gel nail pens!
Today I have swatches of two nail polishes prepared for you.

Glitter My Life

A beautiful silver glitter/sand finish nail polish with larger hexagonal glitter. I think this is a must have in every girls collection! It looks elegant and because of the sand finish it has a special touch.  I already know that I'll wear this one on new year's eve!
I used 2 coats, application was super easy and it dried pretty fast.
(did not test the wear time)

I also did some nail art on it. I used stripping tape and Essie Licorice as a base. I really like the way it turned out!

Wine Divine

This one is also a classic that every girl should have. It is a dark magenta with magenta shimmer that gives it a lot of depth.
I used 3 coats, because I had some bald spots after second coat and I was afraid that it will be noticeable in the pictures. Nail polish itself dried fast. Sometimes nail polishes that are packed with shimmer leave brush strokes on my nails, but this one didn't which gives it another bonus point!

I also played a little with this one! I used Pueen 38 and BarryM Gold foil. On all of the nails the design is the same I just turned it a little or I did not transfer the image completely. To me it looks like Christmas ornaments.
I'm not completely satisfied, because it could look better, but it is still wearable =)

The store also offered and early Black Friday coupon code which will give you 40% off on items in your shopping chart. Just use code BFColorfulbottle!

These products were sent to me for a reviw. See my disclosure policy.

Untried Polish Challenge - Newest

11:53 PM colorfulbottle 6 Comments

Hi!

I was supposed to publish manicures from Untried Polish Challenge on Fridays, but lately my plans are not working out the way they should...but I'm still glad that I'm sticking with this challenge because it is a really good way to try out some untried polish. This manicures means I reached the middle of the challenge which makes me even more proud, since it's been a long time since I managed to keep up with my derisions for more than a week or two =). Enough of my rambling...

For this part of the challenge I had to use my newest untried polish, this was easy since you always remember which one you got last. This week I got 7 new nail polishes in a swap with a lovely girl named Sabina, which made it a bit harder to pick out one, but in the end I decided for Kiko 494

I must say that this polish is really not meant to be mine! Firstly I applied it on Friday, but I managed to get a big dent in my manicure before taking pictures. Because I was busy I wasn't able to reapply it before Saturday evening ( at that time I was tired and lazy and I really didn't feel like taking pictures). Well than on Sunday morning I went to work and managed to get chips. Now I'm finally writing my post with the third application of this polish this week. They say thee times a charm, and I must say that it probably works for this polish too.

I must say that it looks amazing, but it chips really fast and that is not common for Kiko. I must say I'm slightly disappointed.
For the pictures I applied 3 coats of Kiko 494 without top coat.

Isn't the shimmer in this one amazing?

I really love the colour, but the wear time is just a big disappointment.

I spiced it up a bit with a gradient and some stamping.
I used;
China Glaze Emotion
Pueen SE04Bimage plate

What do you think? Like it or not?

Nail Art Wednesdays #6

4:12 PM colorfulbottle 3 Comments

Hi girls!

Today I'm going to present you a gorgeous Zoya I just recieved in a swap with Slovenian Girl.

I used:
Zoya Logan 2 coats
no top coat!

Isn't it gorgeous?

I picked this colour because I draw # 27 from my nail art challenge Nail Art Wednesdays. This number represented gold nail art set from Essence, and because this nail polish includes gold glass flecks it was a perfect match.

I applied hexagonal glitter on my ring finger in a symmetrical shape. Nothing fancy!
I know I should try more on my nail art, because it looks really boring.

I never thought that I would like this look, but I think that it is pretty wearable. I will definitely use hexagonal glitter more often! =)

Private party with Lady in Red

10:20 PM colorfulbottle 2 Comments

Hi!

Remember my post about new polishes I bought in October? In one of my many shopping trips I went to Graz where I bought myself my first bottle of Anny nail polish. They retail at 9.99€, but I had 20 % dicount so I only pait 8€ (this is still a lot for me, but I said to myself that I have to try it out). Anny has some really special nail polishes in it's line, that is why it was even harder to pick only one out of them. After half an hour of deciding I decided that it'll buy Private Party. I must say that I'm really not disappointed. It is a dark red/black base with red shimmer and dries to a satin finish. It is a one coater ( out of a habitt I still used 2 coats for swatches)

Anny Private Party (2 coats)

Doesn't it look amazing? I'm really happy I chose this one over a random glitter polish =).

Now I'm not sure if you remember my post about Barry M Lady in Red, where I said that this is a perfect red for stamping, I was right (In my opinion it is even better than the one from KONAD, I should do a comparison post?). I used this one over Private party with Pueen 44. You can see the end results in the pictures below.

Anny Private Party stamped with BarryM Lady in Red and Pueen 44

And a close up...

What do you think? I think I'm in love!
