Finally! Essence Colour and change swatches

12:24 AM colorfulbottle 21 Comments

Today I'm finally showing you Essence colour  change swatches I bought recently =)

I bought 3, there are 4 in this line, but the orange one didn't seem attractive enough so it stayed on the shelf =)

The first one I swatched  was unexpected galaxy because I thought it will have matte finish, but instead it surprised me with a lovely metallic finish.
I applied only one coat and it was completely opaque, so  I had to check if it stamps well and it does, but I'll show you the picture later =).
I like this colour, it is a very dark metallic silvery purple which changes to IMO prettier purple when  TC is applied.
Lets take a look at the pictures:
shade

 Sun

I played a little bit with one of my top coats an got these looks:
shade

sun
In this combination I prefer the one with TC

 Next on is sweet suprise
This one is also a one coater and it stamps great too =). It immediately remembered me on CG Admire, but in fact they are quite different. This one has chrome finish so you have to be really careful with ridges and application.

shade
 sun

I got these looks when I applied TC:
shade
 sun
I was really impressed with this colour combination as well.I had to choose I'd pick pink over red.

The last one is a shade called wonderlicious green. I don't know why they decided to name this polish green since I don't see even a tiny bit of green colour in this polish.
This one is one coater as well. Application was great and as the other 2 shades this one dries fast too =)

shade

sun

This is what I got after playing with TC:
( you can clearly see that I ran out of ideas )

 shade
On my pinkie I used a really thin coat of TC so the colour change effect isn't that visible, but this only happens with the blue one, with other two I didn't have problems

I must warn you! This picture is really not colour accurate. The colour changed blue should be a bit darker, but I failed to capture it. I really like the darker blue in this combination.

This is how they work with stamping:
( please forgive me for such a bad quality picture)
L without TC, R with TC ( If I used another TC desings probably wouldn't be smudged that much)

My overall opinion:

I was really impressed with them. They are easy to work with, great for stamping, colour contrast is really visible, but you have to make sure that you apply enough top coat. Their price was about 2,2€ which is much less than BarryM Chameleon
Essence congratulations, you put another great stuff on the market for a very reasonable price!

I already have one pretty nail art in mind with 2 of them.
I'll probably use them a lot for stamping, because they stamp pretty well, and when I'll get sick of on colour I'll only add TC and get a completely different combination =).

I also tried what would happen if I stamped TC on colour change polish. I discovered that this doesn't work, because the layer of TC is too thin.

What do you think of them? Are they a must have or they don't catch your attention?

Which one of  this shades is your favourite?

Birthday gifts =)

11:24 PM colorfulbottle 13 Comments

I'm a little late with this post, actually I'm a little late with all of my posts and I'm really sorry about that. This time I have a bit better reason than usually, I really could tell you all about it, but I'd rather focus on better things right now =)

On the 4th of August I turned 22. Yes, that much already! =)
I got loads of gifts from my friends and family and since I got quite a lot of nail polish related items I decided to share my gifts with you =)

I'm really proud to say that I don't have a lot of acquittance and buddies, but I DO have a lot of good friends =), and these good friends just know me too well =)

Since my friends are from all over the country I decided that I'm going to make 2 parties =).

On the first party I invited my friends that I met in high school and junior school. We went bowling and I think it was fun to do something else for a change ( we usually go to the cinema and later on a pizza) . I don't have any pictures from bowling, so I'll just show you what I got from Sara (from Passing Fancy), Tadeja, Andreja and Barbara:

Purple ESPRIT Watch
I've been talking for like a year how I desperately need a watch so they decided to by me one. And I must say I'm really impressed upon their pick. It's really AWESOME!
( My parents decided to by me a watch too, and I picked that one in a shop, but I like this one much more =))))

They also got me Zoya: Julieanne and Zoya crystal nail file
I really love this nail file! I've been using glass nail files for almost 2 years, and I always buy a big version because I cant find a smaller one. I really have nothing against larger files, the only problem is that I constantly break them! I think that this one is just the right size that I won't be able to break it that easily. I already used it for about 3 times and I started to notice that my nails don't split like they used to when I used other glass nail files =)

I also got this cute birthday card.....

... and a planner for 2013, but I forgot to take pictures.
I will show you pictures of my GORGEOUS planner in the next post, because I think you really must see it. Yes, it is that awesome!

I invited friends that I made in college on my second party =)
Because Petra( one of my fiends I meet in college) has her birthday just 2 days behind me, we decided to celebrate together, and decided to make something more for our dearest friends.
Again we went bowling ( I guess this is a real hit), before that we had a pizza and after the bowling there was a cocktail party =). It was really fun!
I do have pictures from that one, but you really don't want to see them =)

Now on to the gift
I got this gift from: Urša, Petra Irena, Lidija and Mojca
I got: 2 special KONAD polishes in pastel blue and pastel violet, awesome cat birthday card, a lot of coupons for shopping and Ritter sport pralines, which I already ate =)

I also got a lovely black butterfly watch from my parents
(the one that I was talking about earlier in this post)

I just LOVE all of my gifts!
Thank you again my dearest friends for giving me soooooo wonderful gifts =)
What do you think about them?
Which part is your favourite?

Here is a bonous picture of upcoming swatches from Essence Color change line =)

That is all for now =)

Sunset Gradient

8:44 AM colorfulbottle 36 Comments

I was supposed to post this yesterday, but my Internet connection was giving me a heartache! I decided to go to bed and post it today, since Internet wanted to win =).
Today I'l show you pictures of my second gradient I wore last week.

For this gradient I used:
Essence: Wanna be your sunshine
Essence Under the mistletoe
Essence: Fruit punch

I'm sorry for bad pictures, but I had some problems with natural lighting that day because it was raining.

Do you like it?

I later added some stamping which I'll show you in my next post.
I'd also like to apology to all of you, because I won't be commenting and posting a lot in the next 2 weeks, but I do have 4 exams and I have to study really hard if I want to pass them on and continue with my studies =)

But when that is onver, there will be tutorials, nail care routine, nail art, more gradients....

Born Pretty Store review

12:46 AM colorfulbottle 8 Comments

Hi!

Today I have a review for you!
I wanted to write this review a long time ago, but I never found enough time or inspiration.

In this post I will review 24 pc set of 2 way nail polish liner brush from Born Pretty Store. Born Pretty Store is a well known store that sells nail art related items with very reasonable prices and excellent quality, but you all probably know that.

I bought this set quite a while ago, because I wanted something like this for a very long time, and since I finally got my Visa card, I decided to buy them, and I must say that I don't regret my desision =).
Firstly I'll show you the pictures of the colors:

In this set you can find a variety of finishes and colours. I was very surprised when I found 3 neons inside =), but there are also pretty glitters, good shimmers and I just LOVE the gold, bronze and silver. They are really well pigmented and really metallic like.

Each tube has it's own little "wire" with which you can clean the pen every time you use it. On te right picture you can see how it looks like after I use it, because I'm really clumsy =)

Each also has a striper. Brushes are really thick, but they can draw a very thin line! I was really impressed!

I also played a bit with them on the paper. You can see that they really can draw a thin line and the part with pen is also very precise, great for drawing details and really easy to use. And jut take look at the pigmentation of that neon green, I was really impressed since neons are know for being quite unpigmented.

.....I also played with them a little on my nails.....

My favourite is definitely the last one, the one with rainbow was a BIG fail, but I had to share it with you also.

Overall opinion:
They are definitely a must for every girl that likes doing nail art. And they are really easy to use and  each plastic tube contains quite a lot of polish so they will last like forever =). If you do run out you can still pour in the same colour =).
I would definitely recommend them to you!

Pros :

+ Easy to use
+ Comes with the wire to clean the pen
+ Precise
+ Great colour range
+Price
+ Good pigmentation
+Free shipping!

Cons:

- The smallest set is 24pc, so you can't buy only the basic colours
- No ingredients on the packaging ( but they don't smell like that they would contain any of the big 3)
- Glitters don't get come out on the side where the pen is, but just coloured polish, but they are still awesome stripers!

Where to buy?

You can get them at Born Pretty store here. The set costs  24.55$, but the owners were so kind to offer a special 5% off code for all of my readers! So with my code you can get them for 23.38$, so each costs less than 1$.
My code is: DL5X31!

My first gradient got upgraded

12:14 AM colorfulbottle 21 Comments

In this post I'm going to show you how I ungraded my first holo gradient
for the gradient I used Magnetic: Shimmering Silver and Color Club Wild at Heart and than I added flowers with M51 and Wild at Heart. I really loved how it looked and and I wore it like 4 days or maybe even more =).
I only did one mistake. I put a thick coat of top coat on my nails before sleeping and I got a little( quite big) sheet mark on my middle finger. You will probably notice it on my last picture.
I hope you like it=)

All pictures were taken on the sun, only the last one was taken in shade, and you can really see the sheet marks. I'm a bit ashamed that this happened, and I firstly didn't want to show it, but then I said what the hell, this happend to each and every one of us at least once=)

Have a lovely day!
