My first REAL scotch tape manicure

12:13 PM colorfulbottle 9 Comments

HI!

Lately there is a lot of scotch tape manicures in the blogging word because of Erika from Chloe's nails. She makes really awesome nail arts only with scissors and scotch tape(but I think you all already know this)! In one of her posts she also used crafting scissors and because I loved it so much I just had to try it. You can check out here version here.
Here are the pictures of my version:

I used 2 coats od Color Club: Frostbite for the base, and than added one coat of Essence: Fatal. In the end I applied Seche Vite fat drying top coat.

Do you like my version of scotch tape manicure?

This wasn't my first attempt of a manicure with a scotch tape. A few years ago, I wanted to do a manicure in rasta colours, and I also used scotch tape for it, but because I didn't wait long enough for all the coats to dry I had a really ugly manicure instead =). At least I learned a lesson from that. And also this is probably the reason why I waited so long to try it again, but as I asid I just couldn't resist the crafting scissors pattern =).

There is also something new on my blog. I'm going to do Guest Nails! posts. You can read more about them here. I really hope this will work, because I think it is a great opportunity for unknown bloggers to gain some readers and also I will also have a wonderful opportunity to meet some of my followers more in person =).

Have a nice day!

Unlucky Extravagance

Unlucky DS Extravagance?
Yes, mine is really unlucky when it comes to photo shooting, because every time I apply it on my nails and have camera with me, there is not enough sun to take a decent picture of the amazing holo effect. Because this happened 2 times now, I gave up and decided that I'll post the pictures anyway. Also because this polish is so beautiful I'm 100% positive that it will be on my nails at least a dozen times =).

The application was great, I never liked opi wide brush, but I think the every time I use this brush I like it more, though I still don't like it, but I don't hate it ether =).

I applied 2 coats and it dried really fast =).

Though the holo effect id visible on some pictures, the pictures just don't do justice to this polish, so I'm really sorry about that. I promise that next time I'll take better pictures =).

I'm in love with this polish and this is probably my favourite holographic nail polish =)

Do you own DS Extravagance?

Tomorrow I'm going to show you my first scotch tape manicure I made =)

Color Club Revvvolution vrs. Color Fever Black Diamond

6:29 PM colorfulbottle 8 Comments

Hi!
Yesterday I promised a comparison between Revvvolution and Black diamond.
You can see how different they look in the bottles in shade
Revvvolution looks a lot more lighter grey shade than black diamond

another picture of the nails in shade, here you can see, that Revvvolution is much darker on nails than it is in the bottle. Revvvolution looks almost black here, while BD is still dark grey as in the bottle.

And now, to the pictures on sun and the holographic effect.
I have to warn you, that it wasn't the best day for a holographic nail polish comparison, because the sun wasn't shining at it's best so the holographic effect isn't as visible as it should be. But still we can see how different the holo effect is. BD has more scattered holo which is also weaker and Revvvolution has more rainbow looking holo, also the holographic glitter isn't the same. Revvvolution has more orange and BD has more blue glitter in it. I hope you'll be able to see that on the next 2 pictures

sorry for such a big photo, but I just had to enlarge it *blush*

I know that this is not the best comparison, but I think that it is clear that this 2 polishes aren't even close to being dupes, and I'm glad I have both of them , especially beacuse I'm a holo fan =).

What do you think about this 2, which one do you like more? Do you think you need both?

Color Fever: Black diamond

7:10 PM colorfulbottle 11 Comments

Hi!

Today I'm going to show you a very beautiful black holo I got from Courtney from Lacquer Lady.
I applied 2 coats and because today it was a sunny day, I was able to get some pictures with the holo effect =).
Here are the pictures:
(shade)

 and sun pictures =)

It doesn't have a lot of holographic glitter in it, but there is just enough to spice up the dark grey polish =)

What do you think about it? Like it or not?

When I saw this one, I immediately put it next to the Color Club Revvvolution, but I found out, that these two aren't dupes, but I'm going to show you comparison tomorrow =).

A Classic

10:12 PM colorfulbottle 14 Comments

Hi!

Today I'm going to show you a nail polish that almost every girl has ( at least I hope so). It's China Glaze For Audrey. A beautiful pastel polish which is perfect for stamping. Because I'm really tired I'm not going to be long today.
Application: good, Coats:2, no top coat
Scissors already prepared for my first scotch tape manicure. I just had to use them, because they really match the color of the polish =).

and another picture of this beauty:

As I said this polish is a perfect base for stamping, so you all know what goes next.
I used konad M64 and Avon: Splendid Blue

What do you think?

My nails were really long so I decided to shorten them, and I realised that I like shorter nail on me more =).

Thank you all, for commenting, reading, visiting......

Enter my giveaway if you haven't! =)

Have a nice evening!

Cowgirl Up with stamping

7:33 PM colorfulbottle 7 Comments

Hi!

I have another post for you today!
Now I'm going to show you how I upgraded Cowgirl Up from CG.
I used M64 fauxnad image plate and Essence stamy plack polish. I also decorated my ring finger with some rhinestones I got from Courtney in my last swap.
Here are the pictures:

the first 2 were taken in shade

and the last one was taken on the sun
I just love sunny days =)

What do you think about this one. IMO the rhinestones just don't fit well with the rest look. What do you think about that?

Tomorrow I'm going to show you OPI DS Extravagance =) ( If the sun will be shining)

Handwriting Tag

4:20 PM colorfulbottle 7 Comments

Hi!

You've probably seen this tag on a lot of blogs, and because I like it, I decided that I'm going to make it as well, though I know that I write like a doctor =). Also I admit, I'm kinda selfish, because I decided to do this tag, because I'd like to see your handwritings too =).
Here is it, my handwriting:
please forgive me for the bad quality of the picture *blush*

Here is what I had to write:

1. What is your name? And your blog name?
2. Blog URL
3. Write: the brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
4. Favourite quote
5. Favourite song
6. Favourite band/singers
7. Say anything you want
8. Pass it along to a few bloggers

Here are the blogs I tagged with the links, though I know that many of you already know all of these blogs =)

It's your turn to write something pretty now =). have fun doing this =).

P.S. I stole this tag from Jen ( The PolishAholic)

Cowgirl Up

11:36 PM colorfulbottle 11 Comments

Today I'm going to show you some pictures from a polish that has been on my WL for ages. With Courteny's(from Lacquer Lady) help I finally got it. And today I enjoyed every single minute of wearing this polish =). Thank you!

Yes' I'm talking about China Glaze: Cowgirl up. I know you are probably laughing now: "Haha, I have this polish for ages, this woman is really behind the moon!", but it's not like in US here in Slovenia, I can't buy China Glaze polishes anywhere but in Slovenian web shop, but they are really pricey there, not to mention, that they don't have a lot of shades available. I know, pay pal also exist, but I'm really afraid to make an account because I know I will spend all of my money on buying polishes =). Anyway this polish is really great for applying. I applied 2 coats it dried really fast and shiny, but I just had to add a coat of one of my new to coats that I also got from Courtney, so this time I decided for CND Air Dry and I have to say that it is really good =). I won't bore you with words any more, lets take a deep breath, and have a loooong look at the pictures =).

Of course I can be a big baby from time to time, and I just had to play with water

All 3 pictures above were taken it the shade, but the one below was taken under direct sun light.

Isn't it just to die for?

I will probably add some konad tomorrow, I hope I get it right this time.
I also changed my nail shape, because I a girl commented that I should round a bit my tip, because they look to wide if I have square nail tip, and I really think that she was right, as much as I like square nail tip, I had to say goodbye because it really makes my nails too wide. What do you think? Is this shape better or I should go to the old square tip version?

Swap with Courteny from Lacquer Lady

7:12 PM colorfulbottle 17 Comments

Hi!

Today a postman brought a big package to me. A really big package! And since Courtney from Lacquer Lady and I agreed on 10 polishes I didn't expect such a big package, but when I started opening the box I saw that there isn't only 10 polishes, she sent me A LOT more. Let's look at the pictures first, so you'll be able to understand why I wrote A LOT like that.

Nail polishes:
From L to R Essie: Wild Thing, Color Fever: Black Diamond, Borghese: La Strada Rose, Opi: Ink and Diva de Geneva

from L to R: Zoya: Valerie, China GLaze: Ruby Pumps, Short & Sassy, Cowgirl Up, Color Club: Frost bite and Rule Breaker

Fast drying top coats:
from L to R: Seche, INM Out The Door, CND: Air Dry
I asked her if she can get me a bottle of fast drying top coat, because we don't have good fast drying top coats in Slovenia, but she sent me 3!

Loads of nail art things:

image plates, a lot of fimo flowers and fruits( of course I had to try and slice them) and millions of rhinestones

Nail foils and and nail strips
The left foil Tie-Dye Surprise and the second Rainbow Swirl, the white thing at the back is a glue for the foil,
Duracolour nail strips with butterflies and Sally Hansen Salon Effects: Check it out.

I also got Burt's bees cuticle cream.
I tried it already and it is awesome!

and 2 packages of chocolates

The Dove chocolates also have simple messages hidden in each chocolate, and they are all really delicious.

So now you see, why a write A LOT?

I really got all my biggest lemmings and I'm really speeches with this package, because I expected 10 polishes and a top coat, but I got all this. All I can say is a big  THANK YOU!
Thank you Courtney!
You really rock!

I know that I may sound silly and all, but I just have to say thank you at least 3 times =)

Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you!

have you checked her blog already? She has some beautiful nail arts and french manicures posted there!

In desperate need of China Glaze DV8

9:55 PM colorfulbottle 3 Comments

Hi ladies!
Another post for today. I saw that Ivana made a post searching for a polish and she was successful, so I decided I'll try my luck.

So to the question:
Is there a lady that can get me China Glaze DV8?
I know that is discountinued, and very hard to get, but I would looove to have it, and it doesn't mater if it's half empty, just that I get it. Anyway if you have it and you are willing to swap it with me, please contact me at dolores dot zimerl at gmail dot com. I promise you won't regret your decision. ( And this probably sounded like a bad commercial LOL)

Cute as Hell LE: Date me

9:18 PM colorfulbottle 6 Comments

Hi!

Firstly I'd like to say that I'm really surprised upon your positive reaction on my recycle giveaway. I really didn't expect that there will be 40 entries in a day and a half. I think that this is very positive, so thank you all for entering =).

No to countinue with the manicure. I wore this manicure a few days ago, and because the polish is perfect for stamping I was planing to stampi it, but I didn't succed so I'll publish only no stamping pictures.
The polish is from Essence Cute as Hell LE form spring 2010, I applied 2 coats, the polish dried quite fast, and surprisingly didn't applied as hell like the pink one from this LE. I didn't apply any TC.

Here are the pictures:
Essence Cute as Hell LE: Date me

Essence Cute as Hell LE: Date me

Perfect for stamping right? Too bad I failed =(.

Have a nice evening!

My boyfriend's jeans got flaked and a giveaway questino

8:04 PM colorfulbottle 20 Comments

Hi, I don't feel like writing a lot today, because I'm really sick.
Here are pictures of a manicure that I wore a week ago.
2 coats of Essence Denim Wanted My boyfriend's jeans. It dried really fast and I had no poroblem with application.

(sorry for the bad blurry photo)

Because I wanted to spice it up, I applied 1 coat of Essence Glisten up. Here is the final look:

In the end I'd like to ask you for your opinion. I realised that I have just too many nail polish, and for some of them I'm positive that I'm never going to wear again. So I decided that I'll make a recycle giveaway, which means that I'll give away used polishes and now I am asking you what do you think about my idea. Is it like: "Hell no, I'm not gonna participate, because they were used!", or is it: "That's not such a bad idea."?

China Glaze Flying Dragon (neon)

8:46 PM colorfulbottle 2 Comments

Hi!

I's been a while since my last post. I realised how much time I spend on the internet so I decided that I won't blog for a while, but here I am now with some nail pictures prepared, I'll start with China Glaze Flying Dragon (neon) that I got from Ivana. Thank you!

Here are the pictures:
Because it dries matte, I added a coat of top coat on my ring finger. The top coat really reveals the blue glitter in the polish.

Sorry for the bad application and pictures. These are the best I took at that time =).
I applied 3 coats it polish and it applied nicely.

I also moved to my student dorm, and I got a room mate form Slovakia so now I can practice my English all the time =). She is the best, and she also doesn't mind my nail polish addiction =).

Also thank you all for your kind comments and welcome new followers =).
